I need lots of HELP!!!!!!!!!

I would like to know if anyone knows about joining Global Travel? It's about $400 dollars per year and you are suppose to save lots of money on hotel resverations. The way I understand this is that you are your own travel agent. We[ a family of 4, two adult children] will be traveling to Geneva, Florence, Venice, and flying out of Milan. Our dates of travel are Apr.1-11th. how long should we spend in each spot listed? Should we use the trains or drive.Thank You!!!!!!!!!

Please be more considerate of others here, and re-post this message with a message header that tells something about what info you're seeking.

What if you came back her and every single message in the lefthand column said "I need lots of HELP". How could anyone make any sense of the questions here?

"Seeking advice on joining Global Travel" would work fine.

Best wishes,

Rex

p.s. I would never spend money on something like this, probably regardless of what testimonials you may read - - and I know nothing about them. Finding better bargains is what you come here to this forum for!

The words SCAM come to mind.

I have seen these places before and they supposedly accredite you as a Travel Agent, BUT you don't get the IATA (or whatever it is) id, just some "fake" ID which is not recoginzed by airlines, major hotels, etc... Maybe you could save at a small mom/pop place, but I doubt you would ever get $400 worth of savings.

Personally, I think you are trying to do WAY to much if 10 days. You are losing a day to travel between Geneva and Florence. And Milan and Venice are pretty far apart.

I agree with Rex: Save your money! Spend it happily elsewhere.

This is a great forum for getting advice - and for free!

Come back with more specific language in your heading: "Best airfare? To Milan in April" or "Which hotel in Venice?" "Got $xxx for XYZ hotel in Florence. Is this a good rate?" You will likely attract the best brains for that particular country/city to answer your questions.

Good luck!

I agree with the others here. For the $400 annual fee you pay this outfit that says you act like your own travel agent why don't you make your own reservations and use the same money towards the hotel costs instead! What are you paying them for? A listing of hotels?

You can be your own travel agent without forking over a single dollar to some outfit like that. Just do some research in guidebooks, ask specific questions here, and book your own hotels. There's $400 more you can spend in Italy!

Also, you'll barely have time to enjoy your vacation if you plan to go to all four places mentioned between April 1 and April 11. And if April 1 and April 11 are travel days, it's almost impossible.

Here's a suggestion. Take the $400. Put half of it in your pocket.

Now split the other half between the five of us who have helped you save that much!

LOL!

..re your trip..before I can make any suggestions re how you divide your days, I would want to know your interests. I will say though that I do have a rule of 3 for big cities..meaning I dont think that anything less than 3 days makes sense. Also, I always "write off" the first day if there has been a long transatlantic flight and the last day if it is the usual 1ish flight..so you really only have 9 days. you will loose at least half a day on any travel day so I think I'd limit focus on 3 of the cities..re travel. You will NOT want a car in Venice, Florence or Milan...nor in the city of Geneva. However, it might be nice to have a car if you wish to travel along Lake Geneva. I think you might do better from a $ point of view with a car but it will be an inconvenience to park esp if you wish a central hotel. Youu can say in the outskirts and use public transport to get in with the understanding that you will use additional time to do this...Please post again when you have more specifics,
