I need help finding a great world map

Just got my sons Christmas list and he wants a really great looking world map to pin point places where he has been. He has been studying in south american and will graduate in Dec. then he plans to spend 6-8 months traveling in Europe. Any help in finding a map would be appreciated. Thanks jwg

On a similar line I would be very grateful if anyone came accross a map of the world with just the outlines of the countries, that could be coloured in.

Yes its for me.

David west aged 37 and a bit.

I for years have used the National Geographic Atlas, but that is not a wall hanging. You might visit the National Geographic web site.
Or, I suggest One Mapplace in Dallas.
http://www.onemapplace.com/
It has several world maps, laminated, with flags, framed, plain.

I have corresponded with Jeff King the owner in the past and always get good maps. I know before my last trip to Germany and Austria I bought several good highway and street maps of Munich, Innsbruck, Germany, Austria, and Vienna.
I arrived prepared; I knew where my friend's apartment was and how to get there via Ubahn!!
And he had that huge Michelin map of Paris, including the street index, that I could not find locally anywhere.

Jeff has as sense of humor, too.
I picked up a geography coloring book last year that is great. Lots of information on each country, general geography and broad world history. The company does all sorts of coloring books on subjects from physilogy to biolgy to what have you. When I get home tonight I'll post the name and company. I got it at Barnes & Noble.

We just bought a very nice looking (IMHO) Large/poster sized map of the world, that is rather antique looking. We hung it over our bed and have pinned all the places we have visited.
We bought the pins and the map at a Rand McNalley store, the map was I believe $7.99 and the pins about 4 dollars... if you want your map laminated it bumps it up to $22.00 I presume you could also order them online.
