PalenQ, I've got the BahnComfort status for the last eight years or so but until now I've always preferred standing to asking people to show me their Bahncard or otherwise vacate their seat for me.
Hans - as I would do but some friends were rousted in the Bahn Card seats - quite rightly now I know - by flashing their Bahn Cards and saying "excuse me I'd like this seat" - without explaining why but my travel savvy friends surmised he was right because there was some Bahn Card reserved over the seats.
I had one for a couple of years, unfortunately I lost the status then. BahnCards with comfort status have a different colour, grey background instead of white, so they were easy to tell apart. The reservation sign above those seats, usually just a handful per train, will say "BahnComfort" not "BahnCard".
The best thing about these cards, though, is that they give access to the lounges for 2nd class passengers.

thanks for that - my friends may have mixed up the notice' wording and then when someone with the right type of Bahn Card came along probably remembered Bahn Card as gthe sign!
Again thanks.

another question if any of the nice Germans are still here - my friends had first-class railpasses so saw that notice in first class - would there be similar seats marked BahnComfort in 2nd class as I presume or are they mainly for business types of expense accounts going first class?
dank u in advance.
