I just got my Visa/MC statement...

I just got my statement and am in SHOCK.This year, every time I withdrew $$$$,no matter what the amount,I was charges $10 per transaction! I called and asked about this charge since I had used my cards last year in Europe and was charges 2/3%.I was informed that there was an addendum ,in tiny print.WOW,is this obscene or what, one of the cards is under Bank one,the other was just bought by someone else.Is this outrageous or what!!!

Why did you use your credit card for cash advances and not your debit card for cash withdrawals? You're paying a very high interest rate to borrow money, plus the fact that you got charged a transaction fee. With your debit card, at most you would have been charged a transaction fee for using a "foreign ATM" and that charge would have been in the range of $1-$5 per withdrawal.

Banks are in the business to make money. Just in case you haven't noticed, they will nickel and dime you for everything. They are not interested in doing anyone any favors.

Time to change Visa companies or call Bank One and tell them unless they reverse the charges you will change visa companies, and tell everyone you see not to use Bank One for this reason(ie as you have done with this posting). If they have any sense they may reverse the charges.

I've never been charged such a fee for cash withdrawls in Europe, so there are visa companies that don't do this.
All credit cards have a transaction fee for cash advances. You should have phoned for details before leaving home.

Transaction fees are normally $2, not $10. High way robbery.
