I have the winter blues

It is 25 degrees here in Seattle today and tonight we are suppose to get several inches of snow.

I will dream of Italy today. Where do you dream of on these blistery days?

And how's this? Yesterday I wore shorts and a tee shirt!

I hibernate and dream of Aruba and southern California. I even check the Hermosa Beach webcam to see what the weather looks like. I dream of happier days I spent in Spain, Portugal, and Italy basking in the bright sunshine. Our next trip is to Ireland. Guess I can't dream too much about experiencing balmy weather there. LOL!

Bob, that is good to know, since we will be moving down your way this weekend!
When I am not dreaming of my new house in Florida, I am dreaming of France..Paris or Provence, either one will do.
Sometimes for a change, I dream about England.
But on this wet cold day, sunny Florida is fine with me

Hmmmm, normally Italy, but since I just returned from 4 days (much-too-fast) in Dublin, I would love to be back there exploring again - though since it will be in the single digits here by Thursday someplace tropical would be nice!

Though I like to travel to see culture and ancient sites, those Carribean Islands aren't all bad!

Italy highs and lows:

Milan 43/26
Venice/Verona 41/27 (Snow showers expected Wednesday)
Florence 46/32
Rome 49/34

Better than Seattle's 30/24, but not sunbathing weather either.

But, oh, I do miss Venice.

I'm dreaming of Cuba as I just returned last night from a week of lying on the beach in wonderful sun sipping Pina Coladas! Sigh - now it's back to slush and grey cold weather here in Toronto.

For me, it's the islands of St. Barts, and St. Martin. Turquoise waters, balmy temperatures, terrific food and white sand beaches that you can have entirely to yourself if you so choose. All this, a 4 hour flight away from Toronto... who knew France could look so tropical !

call me crazy, but i prefer days that aren't filled with sunshine. things seem less hectic and crowded on those days. i dream of the gloomy streets of paris or london sometimes. i think it's the city that has something to do with it...because i definitely would prefer to spend a gloomy afternoon in paris than in my native cleveland, ohio. i don't know anyone who would want to be here!

I guess it's all in the point of view. I have friends who live in Cologne, Germany who take every opportunity they can to come to the USA.

Personally, I love those grey, chilly, rainy days. I get too few of them where I live.

Statia,
How about a house swap? We're having exactly those grey, chilly, rainy days that you're longing for.

JandaO: I absolutely hate this time of year. We've had lots of rain and it has been very cold here in the Bay Area. I love Christmas and everything associated with the holidays, but when they are over I wish I could just eat a bunch and hibernate until spring. Bears have the right idea.

We're booked to go to Washington, D.C. the end of May for the dedication of the WWII Monument, and that seems eons away right now. No plans for Europe in the works. We may be able to get there in fall. I sure hope so. The two possibilities are Portugal or Sicily. Wish us luck!!

The current temperature outside my door is 1 degree F, so a rainy day would be a big improvement.

I am dreaming of almost everywhere..It has been around -20 to -30 Celcius for the last week or so...I am from Alberta, Canada..So in the last week, I have been dreaming about my last vacation in Santorini (just 3 months ago) and have been dreaming of Mexico and Thailand and just recently saw a picture of these lovely huts in the South Pacific...With a hammock hanging between 2 palm trees over the ocean..
But I am also dreaming of my next vacation that I am planning to India later on this year...So on these blistery days I have had alot on my mind..

Oh poor Flyboy, 1 F should be outlawed !! Or better yet, they should say, well, it is 1 degree today, so everyone should fly south..be warm and come back in the spring!
(When I am Ruler of the World~)

We used to go to Jamaica or St Martin in January, it helped so much to get through the rest of the winter.
I think I will meet a lot of Canadians while living in Florida
