I have 2 different bookings and need to choose one ASAP....please give input.

My husband and I live in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates with our 3 and a half year old daughter and our 10 month daughter. We have made 2 different bookings to the US. One booking is via Europe and the other is via Asia. In otherwordsBR>1- We can do a week in london and a week in edinburgh (for new year)
2- We can do a week in singapore and a week in bangkok.

I would just like to add that although we prefer Europe we are worried that these 2 cities would be too cold for the girls. Our girls are not used to the cold so will they be ok if we dress them warm enough?
As for Asia we have never been to singapore or bangkok but we do not mind the experience.

Since I've never been to Singapore I can't comment on it. But I would like to say they there is plenty to keep especially your 3 1/2 year old entertained in London. Also depending on where in the US you are going you may want to get your girls use to cold weather.

Curly
I'm french and live in Sicily. Every time i went back home (Northen France, near Belgium) for Christmas, my two little boys caught all the colds and flues you could imagine.
I woudn't go to England with young children in winter if they are not used to that sort of weather.

One consideration for the UK is that days at that time of year are very short, so the amount of outdoor time (hence cold) will be limited. Edinburgh at New Years can be very chilly, and your family might find itself a bit claustrophobic under those conditions. There will be more variety in London, obviously.

Singapore and Bangkok will be warmer, of course, but maybe also rainy with the monsoon season starting up.

The point about your ultimate US destination is a good one - is it in a cold area? Acclimatizing yourselves and kids might be a good idea, hence Britain.

My grandson lives in Florida and he did fine two years in a row when he traveled to England in the winter. You are not outside in the cold Every minute, just in and out of cars and buildings. I think that if you bundle them up warmly, they will marvel at the idea of such chilly weather
It would certainly be something different from what they are used to, but isn't that they point of travel? Would you rather be in a warm climate or not? That most likely will be the deciding factor, wherever you take the children, I am sure they will be fine.

Cold weather does NOT bring on colds and flu. Germs bring on cold and flu.
Being inside with crowds is worse than being outside in the cold.
Course----there's always the possibility of pneumonia----but not colds or flu

London is not as cold as much as the USA. Therefore, I would not worry about the cold there. London is not too cold if you have thick socks, gloves, and a coat. On the other hand, Minneapolis in the USA is too cold no matter what one wears.

Your question seems to be if you should visit London or Singapore. That is a question that only you can answer.
