Dear, dear Kimerley, you definitely need a vacation. Maybe if you didn't sleep between now and the time you leave you wouldn't have any more bad dreams? May your dreams improve as time for departure approaches. And stay out of those damned queues! They'll mess you up every time.

Sounds like an ideal holiday...can you tell us which tour company it was, which bank card you use, and which country the grotty loos were located in? I want to sign up ASAP so I too can enjoy this experience.

You didn't mention anything about not having a washcloth, so we all know your dream could have been MUCH WORSE!!

Nigel it is all a blur..but the bus tour appeared to have many older people with incontinent pads packed into their day bags...it could have been any country..a bit like the movie.."If it's Tuesday we must be in Loaslavovia"..

Sweet, sweet Kimerley - you didn't mention the incontinent pads in your first post. I think you may have been at the convalescent hospital around the corner from me (they don't take ATM cards either). Think of warm sunny beaches as you fall asleep; that may help until your departure.

Aussies must think alike! There is a very funny article in the Sydney Morning Herald, www.smh.com.au
Metropolitan section "My life as a backpacker.." weekend edition
The author also writes.."cursing myself for forgetting to pack thongs to wear in the shower and wondering whether I should have had my hair shaved in case of nits"
J'ai besoin d'un medicament pour...ou..Sous anesthesie, s'il vous plait!

Lol...Last night I was myself in trouble. I was having a passport issue in Vietnam . For some reason, it was also a tour, poorly organized, and the guide was very unhelpful. Fortunately, I woke up just before I had to leave the country.

So, here's my advice :

-I highly recommand dreaming about Vietnam. The country and its monument seemed very attractive.

-Avoid tours. Not worth the price you believe you paid.

-Vietnamese immigration officers are really strict. Don't even *dream* entering the country without a valid passport.

I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slaveowners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day the state of Alabama, whose governor's lips are presently dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, will be transformed into a situation where little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls and walk together as sisters and brothers.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.
<<...every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight...>>

No offense to Dr. King's dream, but I don't think I would recognize Assisi (or Ronda or Salzburg, or ...), if this last paragraph were literally to come true!

Best wishes,

Rex
