tamarat,
I agree with Loveitaly (Hi LI), your husband is a lucky man.
I also agree with the other posters who say to just wander while you are in Venice. But I would suggest that you hop on the #1 vapporetto near sundown and just cruise the Grand Canal. Just amazing to watch the sun going down on the Canal!!!
Also, I went to both the Ufizzi and Acedamia on the same day, and was totally 'arted out' by the end of the day!! While in Florence DO check out the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens, especially the view from the top near the Porcolain(sp?)Museum. Just breathtaking!!!!!

Hi T,
With only 2 days in each city, I suggest that you pick 2 must sees and spend the rest of the time wandering.
Check out the walks in the miniguides for each city under "destinations".
In Venice, you can walk from San Marco to the Rialto and take the vaporetto down the canal at dusk.
If you like to get up early, the fish market by the Rialto is very interesting.
In Florence, you can walk from the Accademia to the Uffizi and see both museums in about 4 hr.
Do watch the sunset from the terrace of the Bar Blu in Fiesole. (No. 7 bus from the train station.)
Re amount of money: How much wine do you drink?
Take a CC and an ATM card and add it up when you get home.
Enjoy your visit.
