How to transfer from Terminal 2C to 2F at CDG?

So I've searched this site, spoken to an Air France representative and looked up the CDG's terminal information on www.adp.fr (Roissy, Access, Terminal Maps) but still can't seem to figure out how one gets from Terminal 2C to 2F at CDG. The last time I transferred through this airport it was to the Hall directly opposite of where I had arrived. At that time, I was directed by the gate attendant to take a shuttle bus which was a bit confusing, time consuming and just a tad stressful on the short turnaround - other postings on this site mentioned similar circumstances. This will be the first time for me to transfer to Hall F and it seems much farther away. Does anyone have any personal experience &/or recommendations on what my options are in transferring from Hall C to Hall F? If it helps I'm flying in on a Air France/Continental code share flight (arriving into 2C, I believe) and connecting with an Air France flight (departing out of 2F). Thanks in advance for any and all information.

Hi. I just did this transfer. They only give you one option, which is the shuttle bus. It is confusing, but enough other people were also lost, and there were ground personnel to show you the way. I flew out of CDG to the U.S. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes to make the transfer. The lines for passport control and baggage check were long, and the airport was hot and stuffy.

A side story, and too long to relate here, but I was originally given 45 minutes by Travelocity to make my connection, and the only way around it was to pay the surcharge for changing my ticket. Travelocity will be hearing from me. There is no way to make a 45-minute connecting flight.
Only by shuttle. The whole process from the minute your plane lands till you arrive at the new gate might take 1.5 hours! CDG is an awful airport. Good luck!
Ada

Santa Chiara & Ada,

Yikes...just what I was afraid of. Oh well, I'm sure I won't be the only person trying to make this connection. Guess like most things these days I'll just have to hope for the best! Thanks for the quick responses. And to Santa Chiara - good luck with Travelocity. If anyone else has had a different experience, I'd love to hear it.

Julie,

I flew into Paris on 9/28 to Hall C, and connected to a flight to Rome in Hall F. Arrived in Paris at 9:00 am and easily made it to F for our 11:00 flight out with over an hour to spare. There was someone directing people and the shuttle buses for Air France were clearly marked which halls they were going to. From C to F is a bit of a ride. Just keep your eyes toward the doors of the terminal which are marked.

It was an easier connection when we returned on 10/15, from Rome to Paris (in at Hall F, out of Hall C to Atlanta). That was an arrival at 2:45, flight out at 3:55. This was a much shorter ride and there were not as many people competing for space on the shuttle. So time of day may be a factor.

At any rate, it will be confusing at arrival. I remember thinking that there was no way our luggage would make it to our plane to Rome but it all worked out.

Nancy,

So good to hear your success story. However, my outbound connection is a little tight: I am scheduled to arrive into CDG (2C) from Newark at 6:20 am to catch a 7:30 am departure out of 2F to Venice. My return has a bit more of a cushion: I am scheduled to arrive at 9:00 am into CDG (2F) from Venice to catch a 10:25 am departure out of 2C to Newark.

Thanks for your advice...I'll keep my eyes peeled upon arrival and just be prepared for the possibility of chaos.

We flew Air France to Italy in June and connected at CDG. Our connecting flights were only an hour apart and we didn't have a problem. However, with recent security changes, I realize it's probably different now.
I should note that on our flight home (Venice to Paris to JFK), an Air France representative met all the connectors to JFK(about 15 of us) at the gate in Paris and escorted us to our connecting gate to make sure that we made our flight.

We connected last March through CDG - what a disaster. I would say 1 hour 15 minutes is the minimum time to allow for a transfer - with 2 hours being optimal. I have never seen a more convoluted system for transferring people around. We almost missed our flight after thinking we had plenty of time - not so!

a year ago I had a 2 hr layover within to get from 2C to 2D (much closer than what Julie has to do), and it was most stressful.

Poorly marked, down stairs and up, left then right, ...

CDG is an unpleasant, stuffy, smoky, shabby, chaotic maze ... I will think twice before routing my trip thru there next time.

Alexis, Mary Lewis & Tom,

Thanks for your added comments. Since I posted this question I was able to find connection info on the Air France website. So for anyone else who is interested for upcoming travels:

1) Go to: Airfrance.com/USA Site/Paris/CDG 2 Hub
2) Click on “Click Here” to consult paris/CDG2 airport info
3) Find information on your connection
4) Fill in appropriate city information re: arrivals and departures and you will get a map outlined with shuttle info and text outlining how to make the connection

Between everyone’s feedback and what I found out on the Air France website it appears the Fodors folks were very accurate – not that I doubted it and the picture helps a bit. I guess I’m as prepared as anyone can be so again, thanks again to everyone.
