How to reserve train from Mostar to Sarajevo?

I've been looking online trying to figure out how to reserve the train from Mostar to Sarajevo and it seems impossible (which really stresses me out since I look to do things in advance). I saw from Seat 61 website there's a very early one (6:30am which is insane but ok). However, it says you can't book online.

Question: it seems like the train is always available ... is this true even in mid-June??

Probably it is so cheap that no one buys in advance and make not have reserved seating. Try www.trainline.eu. If you have access to a Let's Go Europe it may tell about that. Have you checked buses - sometimes quicker and more frequent - Yes it seems the 6:51 or so train is the only one until late at night between Sarajevo and Mostar - I'd bet there are several buses too. From the Thomas Cook Train Guide it seems it is a workers train going out one early in morning and back in evening. Get to the station early if no reservations but I would not worry about it buses probably a back up.

Thursdys, a veteran Fodorite who often comments expertly on trains in that area. Hopefully she will see and respond.

For lots on trains check www.seat61.com as done- BETS-European Rail Experts and www.ricksteves.com.

We just took the 5 pm train from Mostar to Sarajevo. We bought our tickets same day. When I looked at man in Seat61 he had a website one could use. http://www.zfbh.ba/. Is that not available for the early am flight? I was going to purchase our tickets online a couple days prior to our train trip, but wasn’t certain if I would need to print out whatever they provided online. It says you have to pick up the tickets at the station even when you purchase online. BTW it’s a gorgeous train ride.

Just think Mostar and Sorryvego were in war zones - not that long ago.
