Ho-hen-schwan-gau
Neu-schwan-stein
Her-ren-chiem-see

Except for the "ch" in Chiemsee, people pronounce it as it is written.

Logos just divided the words up syllabically, assuming everyone knows that a w in German is pronounced like a v in English and that the st combination is pronounced like sh or sch in English - no help at all to non-German speakers.

So your noi-schwan-schtein is close, but the middle syllable would be pronounced schvan, not schwan.

v in German is pronounced like the f in English.

Yes Schuler just use your Swiss accent and say
Neu-schwan-stein ;-). How would that sound in a Swiss dialect?

In my area, they would say: Nu schvan schtei

or maybe Spinner Schloss
