How to pack for Italy?

Traveling Northern Italy for approx. 2 1/2 weeks.. Chianti region, Florence, Venice, and the Italian Riviera- by train mostly. Should we pack in a ruck-sack or wheeled suitcase???

Unless you are a backbacking college student....definitely use wheels....it is sooo muhc easier to maneuver.

We packed a collapsable suitcase to carry some "goodies" home.

We did the same. Each had a 22" rolling suitcase, and packed a flatened duffel bag inside one of them for extra souvenir space.

I was fine with a 22 inch rolling suitcase, my hubby was jealous as his duffle got heavier and heavier.

e_roz, what that because your DH was carrying all your souvenirs, as would be the case with mine?

Columbia makes a rolling back pack, which packs like a suitcase. I found this great for getting onto trains, buses, and for climbing stairs. The straps all neatly zip away.
