The sloppiest seem to be young (college age), and they like to wear those nasty jeans anywhere.
These people look like tourists everywhere - mostly taking snapshots. Also, FEET, (or COMFORT of feet)is about the most important thing after a certain age - not how you look to a bunch of strangers. I WISH I had the nerve to wear my comfortable Nikes or New Balances to walk around Paris! But I don't.

Sigh... and I've always bitched because my husband insists on dressing like he does at home (Brooks Bros, etc... he has a special "travel suit".) We used to be addressed frequently in the native language of any country we were visiting .. in Northern Europe, that is. However .. I think I've blown our cover because now I have to wear Reeboks for my bad feet -

Well, I am so glad that I was not included in those photos. Though, they seem to have been taken recently, and my stay in Paris ended at the beginning of April.
Kerouac, I have to disagree with your contention that those are all photos of tourists. For example, the woman in the long denim skirt - I did see some Parisians dressed like that. And she's carrying a purse and not wearing a backpack or fanny pack, so I say she's French (et oui, je sais, elle est un peu grosse, mais...il y a des Parisiennes qui ne sont pas minces. Peut etre deux...).
Also, I saw many Parisians rolling suitcases on and off of the Metro. Some of those suitcase-toters were too nicely dressed to be tourists (at least, American tourists).
I'll never dress like a Parisian, and I'll never speak French like a Parisian, but I'm going to keep coming back! So keep your camera charged. I'll be the one wearing a Chanel jacket with bermuda shorts
