how to get to brittany

My daughter and I were to leave Paris on Sunday the 11th of Sept, take the train to Rennes, France, rent a car and drive to dian. I just noticed the train station in Rennes doesn't open until 4:30? I didn't think about that. I guess we will have to rent a car in Paris (were staying in the 7th I believe at Hotel Le Clement). Any tips on rental cars in Paris. What is it like driving from Paris to Brittany? Than I guess we could take the train back as planned.

Thank you for any info

If you were using the TGV website and entered the U.S. as your home country you may have been directed to the raileurope website, which you should avoid as they don't list all the trains and generally have higher prices. Just enter another English speaking country, such as Great Britain, as your home country. If you meant the Rennes train station wasn't open at 4:30AM that is possible but it is certainly open at 4:30PM no matter what the day. I just used the TGV website and entered your dates and here is what I came up with:

Oh, thank you so much. I did put the US. It seems to be working now, and I need a rental car so maybe it would be better to do it together with the train ticket.
Thanks again

so maybe it would be better to do it together with the train ticket.

Only if it's cheaper than separate contracts. Check out www.Autoeurope.com or www.kemwel.com. You can specify your pickup time by giving yourself 30 minutes between the train arrival (a known quantity once the train ticket is purchased) and the car pickup.

On its Web site the consolidator Auto Europe lists 13:00-19:00 as its Sunday hours at the Rennes train station.

Adding to my previous post. You could leave Paris as late as 10:05 and arrive in Rennes at 12:09 which would give you time for lunch before picking up your car at 13:00.
