How long is the drive from Bayeux, France to Dinard?

We (after advice on Fodors Talk) might drive from Bayeux to Dinard to catch a flight to London. Does anyone know how long it will take to drive and also does anyone have suggestions for a place to stay in Dinard? Many thanks.

From www.viamichelin.com (an excellent website; you should familiarize yourself with it if you are planning to do any driving in France) - -

106 mi in 1 hr 59 min including 67 mi on 00 hr 55 min on expressways.

We found that it took us 10-30% longer to drive the distances posted by viamichelin.com when we were in Normandy in the fall of 2003.

As for a place to stay, there is almost always linked information on the ryanair.com website under "Destinations" - - in this case - - http://www.ryanair.com/destinfo03/de...amp;target=dnr

will lead you, through a series of links to http://www.ot-dinard.com/list_heberg.php?type=hotel (in French only); there are other choices besides hotels there as well.

Best wishes,

Rex

Hi Renovich.
There's not much around Dinard itself with regard to hotels, but St Malo is a short journey away and will have plenty of hotels/B&B's as well as being a nice place in itself.

Unless you want to go visit St. Malo, I don't see any reason to do so. The Guide Michelin cites several luxury-level hotels. The most interesting sounding: Villa Reine Hortense 19 r. Malouine tel:02 99 46 54 31
[email protected]. This villa is decorated in "Belle Epoque" style, each room is individually decorated and has access to their private beach.

There is Novotel Thalassa (Spa) with 106 rooms tel:02 99 16 78 10 [email protected]

The 2**Crystal 15 r. Malouin
tel:02 99 46 66 71 [email protected]
26 rooms 76-128 euros

1*Amethyste pl calvaire Tel: 02 99 46 61 81
[email protected] 19 rooms 51-61 euros

Maybe someone has stayed in these and will put in their 2 cents worth?

about 2 hours or so, maybe less. I drove from Vannes (on the coast - south) to Bayeux last month, and I left at 11 AM, stopped in St. Malo for a few hours, meandered up to Ste. Mere Eglise for a look, then drove along the coast to Bayeux - and was still there by 7 pm. Dinard is more or less along the way. it seemed like a surprisingly short amount of time!
