How long in Dijon and Lyon?

I will travel by TGV from Paris to Dijon, stay one night, and head the next day from Dijon to Lyon.

There is a train arriving at 9:30am and 1:00 pm in Dijon. Should I arrive on the earlier train or can I see enough of Dijon in an afternoon/evening.

Same question for Lyon. Thank you.

I spent 4-5 days in Lyon and felt I had covered a lot. If you have only day, start at Old Town, go up funicular to mountain top and walk to Rome arena, then walk back down. The Place des Terraux area to finish day.

I don't know what day you'll be in Dijon, but if it is a Tuesday, Friday or Saturday, take the earliest one to enjoy the food market(built by Eiffel a Dijon native) in the morning (until 1pm approx). If the weather is nice, buy some food and have a picnic in Darcy garden.
With such a short time the best thing to do is to follow the "Owl's trail" to see most of the sights. http://www.travelsignposts.com/Desti...jon/?g2_page=3 Ask for the brochure at one of the TO (there is one outside the train station and one at the back of the ducal palace). Musée des Beaux Arts is a must see and if you have time, also Magnin museum and the Burgundian life museum. Definitely take an early train!

Thank you so much! I will arrive in Dijon on Wednesday, so unfortunately I'll miss the market. Sounds like that would have been nice.
