How long does it take to ski the Alps?

As I'll be coming over to Luxembourg in the next few days (business) and have some time on my hands after (3 days vacation), I was thinking of cross-coutry ski-ing along the Alps mountains from west to east (or v.v.). How long would this take? (I have three days vacation)

A better question might be: How far can I go in three days? A lot depends on your skiing ability and how tired you are after doing business in Luxembourg.

Geneva is a very short flight from Lux. So i have the whole three days for ski-ing. I am a fairly good skier. Surely three days are more than enough to do the lot.

I've got 4 days off after a business meeting in Seattle. Is this enough to hike to Crater Lake National Park?

Why are you all being so sarcastic?? The answer is simple. It takes about 2 hours longer to ski the Alps than it does to ski the Rockies.

Patrick, <BR>Are you including the Canadian Rockies and the Alaska Range in Alaska? They are all part of the same chain of mountains...

Oops, caught me, I'm sorry. I guess it would take 5 hours longer to ski the Rockies than the Alps.

You'll remember that the original poster of this thread is Falcon, of the hygiene/mad cow disease/food safety and personal safety in Europe thread fame... I think he's just a habitual troublemaker.

Fly to Munich (1.5 hours), take a train to Oberammergau (2.5 hours), take a taxi to "Kloster Ettal" (30 minutes), stay at Hotel "KLoster Ettal", do your country skiing next day on the "Koenig Ludwig Loipe" all the way to "Schloss Linderhof". Enjoy Bavarian meals, beer and "Gemuetlichkeit".
