How long does it take to receive a receipt for the Scavi tour after sending payment?

If one date being specified is a "No Go" we'll have to live with that as that is all I could manage. I could not plan our whole time in Rome around one short tour as we are first time visitors with many interesting sites to see. IF we do get our date --still more than 3 months away--I will report back though.

Victoria -- this is a healthy attitude toward this tour on your first trip, and what I was getting at before. Yes, I did really enjoy it, but you are very right. There is so much to see and do, you will not have time to mourn your loss!

Well Dina4,I took some consolation from your last posting and decided to be patient and hold off on calling. This morning I turned on the computer and found my reservation in the inbox!! The gentleman you spoke with obviously knew what he was talking about. And BTW,I only gave one date.So everyone take heart.Maybe they really are more organized than it appears. Hurrah! Hope my hubby thinks it's been worth all the 'anguish'.Thanks again everyone and GOOD LUCK!

This is our time line to date..
Inital e-mail request sent 13 Feb.
We gave them a block of 6 days in April.
Offer of 22 April 1:15pm received 18 March.
I faxed details to the SCAVI office on 21 March as requested.
Once paymnet cleared, we expect confirmation of that Date & Time. I hope that is in the next 2 days!
Cheers

Oh dear, I was being patient, but now I'm worried. People are getting reservations for late May. I sent an e-mail in February and got a prompt acknowledgement, for three days in early May. Have not heard a word since the first acknowledgement. Sounds dire.

Glad to hear the news about how they process requests. I sent in a request over the weekend, received automatic confirmation next day. SOunds like they'll get to early July requests for tours in May. I'm going to reserve other tours and try to reschedule once we have scavi date. Are there any days they don't offer the scavi tour?

Hi everyone. I am going to ask a question for our Fodorite who is Daisy58. She has reservations with Scavi but she has a concern.
She had some problems using her credit card when she tried to reserve train tickets via trenitalia. Long story but her credit card co thought it was fraud even though she had advised them in advance etc. Trenitalia charged her credit card 4 times...big confusing mess.
So now she has given the credit card info to Scavi to pay for her reservation with them but she is worried that her credit card co. will again look at this as some fraulant charge.
Soooo, she needs to advise her CC Co. the exact name that Scavi uses when they put through the charge so she can advise her CC Co. so that the CC Co will honor the charge so that she doesn't lose her reservation with Scavi.
So ASAP, can someone here that has had the Scavi charge appear on their credit card bill advice as to how the Scavi name read on your CC statement. Thanks so much.

LoveItaly- you are so thoughtful to post my question on this thread!
I did in fact this morning find my receipt in my email!! Looked online at my c/c authorizations, all is good, temp authorization shows ufficio scavi citta, for those who need the info! So
now that my Scavi ressies are secure, I can book my Borghese Gallery ressies!
(...I wonder what I will possibly do with all the "extra time" I will have on my hands after this trip......)
