How long are passports really taking?

OK, I'm starting to get nervous. We applied for my daughter's passport in mid-April, thinking that would be PLENTY of time for our October trip, but now these horror stories are making me nervous. The State Department website says that her application is processing. How long is it taking from your experience for non-expedited passports?

FWIW our daughter applied for her renewal in late April (non-expedited) and she received it last week. We were getting a little nervous too since she's going to Sweden in two weeks, but it worked out fine.

A friend applied for his in March. He received his the first week in July. I sent mine out the last week in June (expedited) and received it this week. I checked online the day before it came in the mail, and it wasnt in the system yet!!! Good Luck

You can check the status on the passport website: https://passportstatus.state.gov/ops..._Status_ip.asp

You should have more than enough time.
