How long a drive between Nice and Florence

We'll be driving from our Provence villa rental to a Tuscan villa rental on a Saturday in June and are trying to get a feel for the time it will take. We've made the trip from Provence to Nice before - now need to know how long from Nice to Florence (our villa is actually 17m south of Florence off of the Autostrada.) Merci, Grazie.

For any car trip like this, you will want to become familiar with one or more of the following websites.

www.viamichelin.com
www.mappy. com

or

www.shellgeostar.com

I t's about 4-6 hours. Semi-worthwhile to consider stopping in Pisa for an hour or two.

Are you getting a good deal on car rental withOUT a drop charge France to Italy? If not, then consider taking the train to San Remo. Easy quick. Car rentals right there at the train station.

Best wishes,

Rex
Thanks for the map info, Rex, O Master of all great information! We've been to Pisa - once is enough. Our real goal is to get where we are going ASAP - we'll have a week to meander at our own pace.
Re the car rental - we're leasing a Renault Scenic (we've rented one before) - pick up and return in Nice. Seems like the best deal - new car, all coverage (no deductible.)

Hi:
We did the same trip last year - I
presume your rental is from Sat-Sat?
If so, you may find it a lot easier
and faster if you leave Nice *really*
early so you don't run into congestion
in the tunnel section between the border
and Genoa. It's an easy drive on the
autostradas and fast - we used the
Michelin planning guide but really didn't need it until we turned off
the freeway to get to our villa....
then it gave us great explicit info.
to our front door.
