How far Darlington to East Midlands airport?

As suggested by a post on another site, I need check on East Midlands airport too,for cheap flights to the Continent. That's an airport I hadn't used while living in Darlington,UK in the 90's. Can someone give me an idea how far to drive timewise Darlington to EastMidlands airport(assuming no traffic problems, of course)?

Couple of hours.

Note however that there is good service on low cost airlines from Newcastle to the continent; less than half the drive time (say 45 min depending.)

And Teesside (MME) is just around the corner form you. You can flights to Amsterdam as a jump off point or take bmi/bmi baby which also fly out of there.

Gardyloo is being optimistic.

Darlington to East Midlands is 142 miles, AA Route Planner says 2h 40m. The M1 can be very slow at the southern part of this trip.

Darlington to Newcastle Airport is 42 miles, 54m. Team Valley can be a problem.
