How expensive is First Class????

I am getting married in a few months. We decided not to spend alot on our wedding because we want for most of the money to be spent on us, our honeymoon. We will be spending 9 days in Egypt and 7 in the amalfi coast. How much should I expect to pay if I get my tickets 1st class, business class??? Thanks in advance.

Lots of places to get airfares ... presuming you let them know where you'll be flying from.

You may want to think about this, though. Unless you're flying to and from Mars, the total flying time involved is likely to be less than 15-20 hours. The amount of time you'll spend on the ground on your honeymoon runs to nearly 400 hours. Many experienced travelers without unlimited budgets would prefer to spend a few extra thousand dollars on hotels, meals and guided tours rather than few hours in the air.

twenj

Your coach class tickets could cost around $1,000, while a business class or first class will be north of $5,000. It's not worth it.

I concur with the above. Use 1st and business if someone else is paying, or use airmiles or ASK for a better seat - honeymooners have a very good chance if you go the right way about it - ie don't demand, just make it clear that you're on your honeymoon. Spend the money on better hotels, better restaurants, better wine (& more of it!). Enjoy!

You might want to look into Business Class. Particularly the segment into and out of Cairo. Internationally, most Business Class is at least equal to Domestic First Class, sometimes nicer.

Business class fare is usually about the same as full fare economy and is rarely discounted, but some of the major carriers have "two fers" from time to time.

Hope this is helpful . . enjoy Cairo, one of my favorite places.

Rich

I checked this out, too, as I wanted to splash out for a special anniversary. First class (and this was just to Europe) cost between $7,000 and $14,000 MORE than the coach ticket. I thought it might just be $1,000 more. I was really really wrong.
