How does this sound for 4 days in Italy?
We will have 4 days between Florence and Rome, and I have used your suggestions.

We leave Florence on Thursday morning for Assissi hwere we will spend the night. Friday morning we will leave Assiss for San G. on our way to Siena where we will Spend 2 nights. My son will be going to school there. On Sunday we plan to leave Siena for Orvieto where we will spend the night. We could possibly stick in another hill town if this board suggests it for Sunday.
On Monday we will head to Rome.

Question? Where to sleep in Assissi? Orvieto?
Thanks
Debby

Hope this sounds doable.

Well, this is big time backtracking, Debbie. do you have a map? Or use shellgeostar.com or www.viamichelin.com - - Assisi should be between Tuscany and Orvieto.

Two good choices for Assisi are Umbra and Fontebella.

You find info on them here.

Best wishes,

Rex
Have to agree with Rex on this one, Deb. I think the more logical sequence is Florence to San G to Siena to Assisi to Orvieto. If you have time to stop in route to Orvieto, Todi would be a logical choice, but you might play that by ear to see if this leaves you enough time (at least 1/2 day) to enjoy Orvieto.

Hope this is helpful.

Yes,
this sounds great. We now plan on lleaving Florence for San G. on the way to Siena for 2 nights. We'll then go to Assissi for 1 night and then on to Orvieto with a stop in Todi.

We would like to drop the car before Rome. We are renting from Auto Europe. Any suggestions on where to stop on the way to Rome on Monday?

Thanks
Debby
