how do I get to Urbino
Good Morning Fodorites, I need help. I will be in Venice end of May for a few days then I need to go to Urbino. I checked with RailEurope and they have no train schedules. Can someone, anyone advice how I can get there. Thanks to all.

If memory serves there's been no rail service to Urbino for some time. Seems like a taxi driver told me that the rails were disrupted by the earth quake there some years ago and the traffic was too light to warrant repairing it.
I know that there's bus service from Bologna, which is an easy train ride from Venice, but you could also train to Pesaro or Ancona (assuming there's service---I don't know for sure) and then the bus ride would be shorter.
Are you going to Urbino for work? It sort of sounds like it since you say that you "need" to be there. In that case you may be able to arrange transportation through your work contacts.

There is no train service to Urbino. I haven't got a map of Italy in front of me at the moment, but I think the easiest is to take a train to the closest city on the Adriatic coast (Pesaro?) and a bus from there.
For trains:
www.trenitalia.com
The bus situation in Italy is complicated; there is no one bus company that serves the entire country, and there can be as many as three or four companies serving a single province (e.g., Siena) within a region (e.g., Tuscany).
The best Web site for Italian buses that I know is:
http://www.orariautobus.it/
You'll have to look for bus companies serving the province of Pesaro/Urbino in the region of Le Marche.

Moyah - As Eloise says, the nearest train station is Pesaro, 30km from Urbino.
Venice-Pesaro fastest journey time is about 3hrs 40'.
You will usually have to change in Bologna (- unless you catch the 07.42 departure from Venice Santa Lucia which is direct).
From Pesaro F.S station there are buses to Urbino.
You can find timetables on:

(Express service)

Hope this helps ...
