How do get to Luxembourg from Brussels

Is it far by train? Do you know where to stay in Luxembourg?

Three hours by train from Brussels central station, with a train leaving just about every hour. The train station is fairly far from the center of the old part of Luxembourg. We made the mistake of staying somewhere between the two, but still on the station side of the big "gorge" that surrounds the old city. It was a pretty good walk, and quite dark at night. I don't have any specific hotels to suggest, but I'd look for one right in the center of the old city which is delightful.

Wow, I see we just posted at the same time. I brought up the DB schedules and saw all the non connecting trains to be exactly 2 hours and 59 minutes. Did I miss something?

nope - you're probably right - given that the scenery on the way is less than interesting I have fallen asleep the few times I have made the trip so it always seemed closer to two hours to me! <BR>

If you have a car, drive a few miles east of town toward Germany. Then hook a right. Go about one hundred miles and you'll see Luxembourg out yonder.
