Surely there are a few on the Europe Board who are not afraid of taking the quiz?

Ok, I'll give this a try. I'm unsure about many of these, but I'm probably not too far off. The quiz seems too heavily tilted towards Asia.

Q1: Singapore
Q2: Vienna (?)
Q3: Stratford-upon-Avon (?)
Q4: [This came up in the Euro Crossword Puzzle, I think, but I forget the answer]
Q5: ?
Q6: Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur
Q7: Bonn & Berlin
Q8: Thailand
Q9: Tower of London
Q10: Rick Steves
Q11: Salzburg (?)
Q12: ?
Q13: ?
Q14: Prague
Q15: ?
Q16: Ginza (?)
Q17: The Philippines (?)
Q18: Malaysia
Q19: Chartres (?)
Q20: London (?) (Is this a trick question?)
Q21: Kuala Lumpur
Q22: Lyon
Q23: ?
Q24: Forbidden City
Q25: Bonjour, Guten Tag, [Not Hello?], Bon Giorno
Q26: ? [I should know the answer to this as I'm leaving for Munich in about two weeks.]
Q27: Mandarin Oriental (?)
Q28: [No Q28 -- missing]
Q29: Rhine
Q30: Shanghai (?)
Q31: Taking a train (?)
Q32: Amsterdam
Q33: Otto Frank (?)

111op:
You got 20 out of 32 right (63%)! Given that you are the only poster on the Europe board that was brave enough to take the quiz I hereby confer upon you the "Traveler" status. (Yes you are correct and the only one to notice that there was no question #28!)
As for being heavily weighted for Asia you will note that there are 19 questions on Europe and 13 on Asia so if anything the quiz is weighted more to Europe!

Sorry, looks much more like a test than a quiz, and I'm just recovering from taking the GMAT.

Fun to read though!

Thanks. I'm curious to see which ones I got wrong.

The dying lion in Lucerne sounds right. I'm sure that it was a crossword puzzle question and I Googled for the answer then.

I really should know the answer for the Indonesian national airline, but it just escapes me at the moment.

Bill, I'm curious which answer you gave for number 2 as even the Austrians dont' agree whether it was invented in Vienna or in Baden, Austria. Do you give full credit for either answer?

The Houston teams were very good - together there was only one missed question- but then again it was teams and not individuals!

I forgot to post the "Final Jeopardy" question- there were 2 catagories- Vienna and Bangkok. The teams got to choose one or the other and then bet from 0 to their total score at that point. Wrong answer and the team's score was reduced by their wager. So really it came down to the final question as to which team would win. Here are the questions:

Vienna- there are 3 palaces in Vienna name two of them.

Bangkok- the Reclining Budda has feet made of what material?

Also, in number 25, do you get credit if you say Grüß Gott in the Bavarian fashion rather than Guten Tag or "hallooo" as our German relatives do? (And my busy busy busy Milan colleagues don't say hello or buon giorno when they answer the phone, the first word out of their mouths is always "Pronto&quot.

I guess I misread the question. I thought the von Trapps were based on a "real" family (whose name I didn't know).

For the palaces in Vienna, would Schoenbrunn and Hofburg count?
