Hotels near Lake Iseo

Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel near Lake Iseo? We will be there in mid-August. We are 2 people travelling by car, so access isn't a problem.

Lake Iseo is beautiful - I spent a week in a rented apartment there about 3 years ago. There are several hotels on Monte Isola (the large island in the middle of the lake).

The Hotel Miranda above Riva di Solto was just below where we rented the apartment. We visited the restaurant, and the people we spoke too were quite happy there.

there is also an English webpage at http://www.lagoiseo.it/inglese/montisola.htm

Thanks willit.... I have now booked B&B Giardino sul Lago (from the web site you referred me to). I'm going to post a trip report when I get back home, so I'll let you know what it is like.

Chriss - I hope you enjoy your trip. The scenary is superb. My favourite thing I did while there was buying an all day ferry ticket, and just cruising around the lake, jumping on and off anywhere that took our fancy. A drive up to Bossico gives you some phenomenal views - well worth the slightly "hairy" drive.

I have a couple of photographs of the lake at http://www.microbes.plus.com/lakes0.htm

Willit....all I can say is "Oh wow!" Your photos are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing them with me - now I can't wait to get there! (Are you a professional photographer?)

Thanks for the complement - no, I am far from professional, I tend to just take a lot of photographs, and by the law of averages, some come out well.

The lake area is just stunning - it is very difficult to point your camera anywhere and not get a good shot.
