Hotels in Sicily

I am looking for 4 or 5 star hotels in Sicily for June. I would like to stay a few days on the water and a few days in a small inland town. Any suggestions ?

Suggestion: Do some reading and choose which of Sicily you want to visit on this trip, how you plan to get around (car or public transportation), and which towns or cities or rural areas you want to use as a base. Once you have selected the towns where you'd like to stay, you may be able to get some suggestions here re specific hotels.

We have planned an 11 day trip in June. I was considering 3 days in Palermo 3 or 4 days in Taormina and 3 days in Siracusa (we are open to suggestions for alternatives). Our most enjoyable vacations have been visiting some of the smaller towns of Tuscany and Umbria. In my readings I have not found similar towns with four or five star hotels in Sicily.

Any ideas ?

Hi,

We've just come back from 15 days on Sicily plus one on Stromboli.
Bliss! I've started to post my trip report on this forum: " Torno d'Italia"

We moved around a bit
Stromboli Hotel Miramare; climbed the volcano!

Taormina 2 nights at the Hotel Condor

Randazzo on Etna anight at Agriturismo L'Antica Vigna; great setting and food

Siracusa 3 nights at Hotel Gutkowski in Ortygia facing the water nice contempotraty renovation of an older building

A night in Piazza Amerina non descript agriturismo Agrisale w/ v good food

A night at Grand Hotel de Terme in Sciacca after visting Agrigento

and 4 nights based outside of Trapani at Agriturismo Fontanasalsa. good food absolutely devoid of hospitality lots to see and do America's Cup trial, Egadi Islands, Erice, Trapani, thermal spa near Alcamo, hiking and swimming in Zingaro Reserve

and 3 nights at the Mercure Centrale , Palermo great location cool cont. design, friendly staff

We drove ourselves about and ditched the car when we arrived in Palermo.

The water everywher was crystal clear, great swimming., friendly people, fabulous archeological sites, etc, etc

buon viaggio in Sicilia
