Good evening, Sandie
Have not been to Sicily for some years,
however have always used the Jolly Hotel
chain there because they have good dining rooms and hotels are the same
in quality and etc....
Arigento- Jolly Hotel Dei Templi
Taormina - Jolly Hotel Diodoro
Palermo-Jolly Hotel Foro Italico
The would be running about 150USD for
a double per nite with breakfast...
Taormina
However here are a couple of more suggestions, the Villa San Michele in
Taormina is centrally located an now
about 145000ITL for a double with break-
fast. Also many years ago stayed at
the Vello d'oro, Via Fazzello 2, again
centrally located and hotel is build on
a number of different levels, lower exit
to the Pza April and the Corso Umberto.
The D'Oro is a three star hotel with 59 rooms..Rates change depending time of year.,Some good ristorantes around...
Agrigento-in surfing came up with two
interesting ones.
Collverde Park, Passeggiata Archeologica
is a three star hotel with 48 rooms,
check it out on www.oasi.net/hotcolle..
the Paradello Mare, Via De Chjirico,17, Lido San Leone about 7 KIM east of Agrigento is a three star with 45 rooms
Palermo
Here I would only recommend the Hotel
Jolly, the front rooms have an excellant
view because it is built overlooking the
coast, and a good price.
Have not stayed any any of the other hotels other than the Jollys and the d'Oro.

Sandie,
In Taormina, Hotel Belvedere is lovely and romantic. Gorgeous gardens spilling down to a swimming pool with a palm tree in the middle, spectacular views. Ask for a room with balcony and seaview. E-mail is [email protected] or fax at 011 39 0942 625830. In Agrigento, the Villa Athena is the choice -- ask for a room with balcony that overlooks the ruins(they are lighted at night). There is a beautiful pool in a jasmine-scented garden, and you can walk across the olive groves to do a self-conducted tour of all the antiquities. Cannot really help you with Palermo, as we stay with relatives when we are in western Sicily, but I pulled some info off the internet one night about a place called Palazzo Conte Federico. It looks like sheer grandeur for $250/night. Go to initaly.com and look under historic residences. Have to book through them. Buon Viaggio.
