Hotels in Perugia?

We are looking for a two-star or possibly three-star hotel in Perugia for a trip in June. Intend to use Perugia as a base for touring Umbria. Any recommendations? Grazie.

Hi Frank - we stayed at Hotel Fortuna in Perugia 2 years ago. It was a very nice hotel, and we enjoyed it. We had one of the two rooms on the very top floor (elevator to floor below, up flight of stairs), which had private terraces and wonderful views. They're on the web at http://www.wel.it/Welcome/Umbria/Per.../index.uk.html

Fodor's Rivages 3rd edition gives 4stars to Castello dell'Oscana and same
to Locanda della Posta. Pics in book look great and rates are super. Check it out!! We're going to same area Oct.,so let us know if you use either. Also, check out all the others listed in

I haved stayed at the Hotel la Rosetta several times and have been very happy. Room type and prices vary. The location is great and the courtyard restaurant is indeed paradise. The best hotel food I have ever had! Have a wonderful time...Perugia is truly a lovely place and a good base for touring.
