Hotels in Paris?
My boyfriend and I are taking a two week Trafalgar tour of France in September. This is our first time to Paris. We'd like to add a few days in Paris at the start or at the end of the tour. Suggestions for a good hotel under $100 per night please, room must be quiet and clean and in an area from where we can easily get around to see Paris.

Rita, I answered this post for you last night, but by this morning it has been deleted; I have no idea why. I named my hotel that I stayed in last March (which wasn't advertising) so I've no idea why my post was deleted.

Here goes...
Try the Hotel Degres de Notre Dame in the 5th arrondissement (Latin Quarter). Room 48 last year went for 600 ff, about $86/night. It had a lovely little view of Notre Dame thru almost floor-to-ceiling tapestried-curtained windows, glossy hardwood floors, beamed ceilings, TV, hair drier, en suite bathroom with bath & shower, even a desk. It was very clean and the hotel entrance is across from a little square. Very quaint. And a couscous-type restaurant. Plus, breakfast was included in the price of the room.
You may fax directly to Nichole who is fluent in English;fax # is as follows:
Fax#: (33) 01 40 46 95 34
I found this review on the web before I went to assure that it would be nice:
http://washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/travel/features/parishotels041899.htm
I think you'll enjoy the Latin Quarter in September as that is when university starts back at the Sorbonne.
Enjoy Paris!
~MaryC : )

Hotel Muguet. I stayed there in March 2001. I chose it based on the glowing reviews on this forum. It was also mentioned in the National Geogrphic Traveler magazine. I read that review after my reservations were set. I used the web to make the reservations a got a quick response. The hotel is in the 7th and convenient to the metro and bus, but on a quiet rue. The tiny bathroom was immaculate.
