A little more information would be helpful; time of year and budget are the first things that come to mind.

The best hotel we've ever stayed at was the AC Palacio de Santa Paula in Grenada. It was fantastic. It's right in the heart of town. It's a converted monestary and the place was beautiful and the rooms were unique. I would highly recommend it!!

Sorry, We'll be there in mid October. We like smaller hotels, budget is not the highest priority

I was in Madrid lastyear in May. I stayed at the Palace Hotel. It is near the Prado and within walking distance of the playo de mayor and the royal palace. It was very nice.and I got a good deal through the Starwood Hotel web site, it is a Westin hotel.

In Sevilla we stayed at the Hotel Colon I think it is part of Melia Sol hotel chain, you can find it on google just type in hotel colon, it was very nice, in walking distance to shops and the Cathedral, but quite. The staff was very pleasent, the people of Spain were so friendly. The hotel has a nice outdoor set of tables for drinks and people watching.

There are a few good, small hotels in Madrid, and since budget is not the main priority, one of our favorites is the 4-star GL Gran Hotel Canarias (http://www.sc-hoteles.com/ghcanariasesp.html) in the center of the museum triangle. (Their new page is only in Spanish for now). One of the new ones you may want to consider is the new 4-star Hoteles Catalonia (http://www.hoteles-catalonia.com/) at Called del Prado, 6. The rooms are large and exquisite. It's also very reasonably priced, for now.

Absolutely agree with Hostal Cardenal in Toledo. For others suggest you check out petrabrax.com, sol-melia.com, and bancotel.com and if you want to stay at some incredible places, but usually outside the city, try parador.es.
