Hotels in Avignon

I am looking for a small hotel/B&B in Avignon. I was hoping to spend less than $125 a night and I'd like to be centrally located. Does anyone have any suggestions??

November 2001 we stayed at the Hotel Mercure, very centrally located, a 2 minute walk to the Palais des Papes. The breakfast is great, buffet style with a good range of choice and the dining room has a great view. I think it was about $80.00/night.

Have a look at http://www.avignon-et-provence.com/avi/gb/pres/p1.htm -several hotels near center and a B&B - Villa Colmas - that looks awfully nice. Sorry I can't give any personal recommendations. You might also try a Text search for "Avignon hotels."

We stayed just across the Rhone in Villeneuve-Les-Avignon, which is a little village with a couple of charming hotels and restaurants. The Hotel Atelier, is a small, family-owned hotel; not luxurious, but comfortable and friendly.
