Hotel Thistle Kensington Gardens

Has anyone stayed at the Thistle Kensington Gardens Hotel? I need any information - good points, bad points, etc. Thanks.

I haven't stayed there but do know the hotel. It used to be the Hospitality Inn. It is in an excellent location for most tourists - right on Bayswater across from Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens. Two tube stations are nearby. I'd call it an Holiday Inn type property - not extra special but fine if you can get a good rate.

I stayed there for a few nights last March. Very comfy beds and nice bathrooms. It was a nice hotel and I would stay there again. It was not a 4 star luxury hotel, but then I did not pay 4 star rates either!

I live close by and would recommend it...otherwise there are a few other nice hotels in the area too. Anywhere in Baywater is a great place to stay. The park is across the road, only minutes from Kensington Palace, a walk through the park and 5 mins on the bus takes you to Harrods, another bus takes you only 5mins into Oxford Street. Perfect position, you can't go wrong...I imagine the inside of hte hotel is very similar to others of the price range - standard, clean, comfortable.
Here is a useful site:
http://www.londonhotel.com
Choose these areas: Bayswater, Hyde Pk, Kensington, Lancaster Gate, Oxford Circus, Oxford St - any of these would be perfect (all in the same area, West/Central London).
