Hotel recommendations in Florence

We are going to be staying in Florence for 3 nights in early July. I'd like a nice 3.5-5 star hotel, with a pool? and don't really want to spend much more than $300/night. We won't have a car so no need for parking. We don't mind a little walking, but don't want to be too far out of town. Anyone have any thoughts?

Here are 27 hotels in Florence with pools. Not all are close to the historical center, and not all are within your budget.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am now trying to decide between Hotel Kraft, Grand Hotel Minerva and Grand Hotel Villa Medici.

I don't think you can go wrong, but I like the location of the Minerva best. The other two are over a mile to the opposite side of the historical center which doesn't seem far unless it's hot and humid.

I stayed at Minerva last summer. It should not let you down. Walkable distance to old town, and very near train and bus station. Relatively big room, and nice staff.

Our stay at the Relais Tiffany last week was wonderful. Not quite as grand and pompous as some of the five star hotels in Florence but for charm and level of service it was second to none.

Great air-con, WiFi in the room and close to the station. It ticked all the boxes for me.
