Hotel recommendation in Stresa

My wife and I will be staying in Stresa for four days the first week in October. Can anyone recommend a moderately priced hotel? We are looking at the Hotel Fontana and the Hotel Saini Meuble based upon TripAdvisor reviews. Has anyone stayed in either? We are also open to other suggestions.

Your advice would be much appreciated.

The place I remember from a few years ago was a very good seafood restaurant named Del Pescatore. Don't recall the prices, though.

Sorry, mind is out of whack. I gave you a restaurant rec, but my favorite moderate hotel a few years ago was Du Parc, but I had heard at the time that La Fontana was also nice.

Look at Hotel Verbano on Isola Pescatore for a unique experience and good food.

atlatty,

A second here for Hotel Verbano on the tiny Isola dei Pescatore. We loved it. Excellent restaurant, awesome views, nice hotel.

We stayed at the La Palma in Stressa. We liked the hotel very much, the staff were super friendly and the rooms the biggest we had encountered in Italy. Also fabulous bathrooms. Not a "character" hotel as such but really well placed on the front at Stressa. We also liked the Triangolo restaurant in Stressa, one of the tastiest meals we had in Italy. A little more upmarket, but not in their prices.
