Hotel Parc Saint Severin

In a recent email I asked if this hotel was quiet and someone responded that it was in the middle of the Saint Michel district which was anything but quiet. One of the travel quides gave it an A rating in quiet - with the windows closed. The question I have is - if the windows are closed will the noise come through and will I be awakened at night? Thanks

Deborah: The Parc Saint-Severin is on a quiet street opposite the Saint Severin church. Don't recall the name right now. There are very few restaurants (which are often the cause of noise with the guests speaking and laughing around late at night) in the very neighborhood and it's on a pedestrian street. Don't bother. You will be fine, esp. with closed windows. Had a look at the place, since it was renoved. Would consider it myself.

In the other post you asked about the Hotel St Severin, not the Hotel PARC St Severin, and there is a big difference!!!!

I haven't stayed there yet, but have booked for a week this summer. I think the confusion about the noise comes from the fact that it is very close (just on the other side of the church) to the very, very busy and noisy inexpensive pedestrian restaurant area. That is why it is stated that it is "in the middle of the Saint Michel district". On the other hand, all windows are supposed to be double glazed so I can't imagine much noise coming through, and it actually should be quite quiet with St. Severin as a buffer anyway.
I'm looking forward to staying there, especially as we were able to book the "penthouse suite" as recommended by readers on this site.

Patrick: The confusion maybe due to the fact that Deborah asked for the Saint Severin in a different post - as mentioned by Kelly - which is on Rue Saint-Severin, a noisy street full of small restaurants.

Parc Saint-Severin is at 22, Rue de la Parcheminerie and I would not hesitate a minute to stay there, but it's not my favourite area of Paris.
