Hotel Orta
Bob or anyone else out there who knows:
I emailed a reservation request for 2 nights at Hotel Orta, last 2 nights of our 18 day trip. Our plane leaves Malpensa at 10am on a Friday morning. How early will we have to leave Orta? Also, Bob had suggested taking the half board which I assumed meant breakfast and dinner. Their offer came back for full or half board, the difference being 20 Euros per room. Do they mean lunch too for full board? I searched on this forum for the answer and got conflicting info. I have replied to Hotel Orta but they have an automatic response saying they are closed until the end of March. What do you all think...
Thanks in advance for all you help.

Yes, full board does include lunch which I would not suggest.
If you have good directions, you can be at Malpensa in an hour or less that time of day. Be sure to factor in the car return, and the fact that you will be parked in the lot above town when you leave. I have a client in touch with them now so they are getting emails. Have fun--you will love Orta.

Bob: Thank you. You always seem to come through with THE definitive answer.
Curious: I think most people could infer Italy from the mention of Malpensa in the question. Don't get so edgy. This is supposed to be fun and friendly,

Mostly on Bob's recommendations we stayed at the Orta a few years ago and it was delightful. we started our trip there but I think it is equally perfect as the ending to your trip. I still remember waking up early one morning and looking out on the lake to a perfect mirror image of the island and convent/monastery in the middle of the lake. Orta is a great little spot. You wil enjoy it.

I often post too that people need to put the name of the place when they post, but really how many Ortas are there?
And I can't imagine what conflicting information you would get regarding "full board". That is always three meals a day. Although sometimes half-board is a choice between lunch and dinner along with breakfast, there isn't much choice what full board would be.

You can find a web site on Google.
I have very pleasant memories of Hotel Orta and the little town. I was there last summer. I have some pictures of the hotel and the town on my web page :
