hotel or apt for 2 nights for family in Rome

HELP - Can someone please help me find a hotel room or apartment for just 2 nights in Rome that will sleep 5 people. 3 adults and 2 teenagers for 2 nights! We would prefer Via Veneto/Spanish steps area - have looked at 2 rooms in hotel but they are soooo expensive - any ideas???? Thanks!!! Would prefer to pay under $400./night

Try Domus Julia and Pensione Panda.

We went to Italy last April and stayed in the Spanish Steps area. We stayed at the Hotel San Carlo and thought it was GREAT. We paid 250E for a jr. suite. It was very nice. The only drawback is that it does not have an elevator, but that didn't matter because we figured it would help burn calories since we wined and dined every night.

Do a google for "independent apartment Properzio Rome". However, it's close to the Vatican, not the Spanish Steps. My family of 5 stayed there a couple of summers ago and were very pleased. We paid 150 euros per night. The a/c was excellent!

mnatella, are you saying that Jr. Suite at Hotel San Carlo accomodated five people? That's quite a surprise.
