Hotel or apartment in Bellagio Lake Como

Any suggstions for the hotels or apartments in Bellagio area of Lake Como? would you suggest other areas as a base for Lake Como?
We are looking for the area where Lake Como is best known for ( best view, center of all acations) and have mid range budget $200-$300 a night.
Appreciate all the sugestions.

Look at these in Bellagio:
Hotel Florence---at the ferry dock
Hotel Belvedere---great views for hilltop over Bellagio.

I loved Bellagio and thought there were more restaurants there than other towns and there is access to both passenger and car ferry and good ferry schedules. You can get the ferry that goes in a circular route around the center lake and stops at smaller towns or the ferry that goes among Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio or the hydrofoil to Como City. Lots of choices from Bellagio.

Don't book the Hotel Suisse.

When is this trip? How many nights?

Another vote for the Hotel Florence in Bellagio. Or Residence La Limonera apartments also in Bellagio.
