Hotel near US Army Base in Stuttgart

My husband and I will be spending the Christmas holiday with our relatives stationed there. Due to their large family and small apartment, we feel that all would be better if we could stay nearby instead of with them. I plan to make my arrangements myself so that they will not try to convince us otherwise.

I was stationed in Stuttgart a long time ago and the Army bases were all over town, north and south. You need to specify the suburb your friends are close to in order to get a good recommendation from this board, I think.

Hi there,

the Patch Barracks are in the very west of Stuttgart, the area called "Vaihingen". It is a little out of town, but easy to catch with bus or own car.

A double starts from DM 150.- incl breakfast

Maybe the cheapest and very close:
G?stehaus Wolf, Herschelstrasse 30, 70565 Stuttgart,Tel.: +49(0)711/7451363,Fax: +49(0)711/7451364
A double starts from DM 90.- incl breakfast

If You wanna stay comfortable and in a nice place in the woods:
relexa Waldhotel Schatten, Magstadter Stra?e, 70569 Stuttgart,Tel.: +49(0)711/6867-0, Fax: +49(0)711/6867-999
A double starts from DM 260.- incl breakfast

The same a little more nice and cheap, my recommand!:

You can reach a central reservation office at:

Patch Barracks! I was stationed at Kelley Barracks in 1970 and my wife was the catering manager for the Officer's Club at Patch while we were in Germany. All the big Generals were at Patch in the 70s. The road leading into Patch has a few nice places to stay plus the Stuttgart International Hotel is not that far away and closer to Kelley Barracks. Have fun, great area.
