Hotel Near Heathrow

Hi all,

I am tacking 2-3 nights in Bath to the end of my March trip. Do I need to spend my last night near Heathrow or can I stay in Bath and take the train to the airport in the morning? My flight is at 4:25 pm so I have plenty of time if we trust the trains.

If I need to stay near Heathrow, I would love some suggestions.

Thank you!

If you wanted to be closer to the airport the night before you could stay in Windsor. Nice town and of course, the Castle. Hopefully others will know if the journey from Bath to Heathrow is easy and fairly reliable. I'd considered doing the same thing myself. Seat61 website will have some information on that route.

There is no direct train from Bath to Heathrow - you'd go into Paddington and then change to wherever you'd stay the night. Given the timing, you could stay anywhere in central London that's close to the Elizabeth or Piccadilly lines and have a leisurely journey to Heathrow the next day.

You could have a look for an airport transfer service from Bath. Probably not a lot more than the train, with or without a hotel in London, Windsor or anywhere near LHR.

Flixbus also run a service from Bath to LHR which will be the cheapest option, but takes longer than a car service would.

With that late a flight I would not stay at LHR and Windsor is not convenient from Bath. There is a fast express National Express Coach from cemtral Bath right to LHR. I'd take a mid to late morning coach

A car transfer of bus is a great idea! I’ll report back with what I find for other travelers.

Any B&B or hotel recommendations for Bath? I probably need to start a new thread.

Thank you!

Bath can be pricey -- what is your budget?
