Where, and are you sure you have spelled the name correctly?

I even googled this and the only thing I found brought me back to Fodors.

It's probably the Hotel Minerve, rue des Ecoles?

Or maybe it's the Grand Hotel Minerve near the Pantheon in Rome?

Since his two other posts are about the Languedoc and the Pepper Festival in Espelette, my bet is on Paris...

In recently researching paris, I have seen this hotel. It is recommended in a few guide books as a good lower cost hotel in the Latin quarter area. I did however read somewhere there was a report of bedbugs. I don't remember where or how long ago the report was given. It was enough to make me keep searching elsewhere.

My daughter & friends stayed there in 1/04 & said it was fine. If it's the one in Paris -Hotel Minerve- around the Latin Quarter I think.

I decided to look and find where I had heard bed bugs. This is a quote from trip advisor. Someone was just saying they had read it somewhere. So, it may all be nothing. I know in several guide books this hotel comes recommended. I wouldn't bother, but even the nicest hotel can have these.

"I just checked recent reviews of Minerve Hotel in the Latin Quarter. There are a couple of recent bad reviews that talk about bed bugs.
I booked this hotel because it was reasonable and the reviews were good...especially on cleanliness.
I leave Friday and am now concerned and wondering if I should risk it or book a different hotel.

When you arrive at the hotel, ask to see the room. This is what a French person would do (for any hotel they are booked into)."

If you go to tripadvisor and type in france forums and type in bedbugs. This is one that came up. It is unvalidated though and no one comes in and supports this on this hotel. Good luck.

This really all is pointless discussion until we hear from Barnum66. That thread I linked spelled the same way WAS about Rome, so I think maybe it was the Hotel Grand Minerva in Rome. If one person misspelled it, certainly a second one could as well.

But Zerlina's post makes the most sense. In any case, it seems the name of the hotel is probably misspelled and we really don't know what city.

It is the Hotel Minerve in Paris, Latin Quarter. Sorry if my original post was clear.... Everything we've read has been positive. Will let you know when we return first part of November.
