We stayed there in December '98 as the result of a reservation mixup by our FORMER travel agent. We were unhappy not to be at the hotel of our choice, but found La Motte Piquet hcarming enough in its 2 star manner and incredibly well located. Try to get a room than ends in '05'. They have nice bathrooms and two windows in the bedroom. The rooms are small, but there is a working ATM in the bank under the hotel rooms. The Ecole Miliatiar metro stop is half a block away and rue Cler and its delights is right around the corner. <BR>What I'm trying to say is that it's not as "nice" as some other hotels" and not as "warm" --- although Madame Ireland can be delightful when she's not worrying about the economics of running a hotel, and we ended up enjoying the hotel, our room and Madame Ireland. And there is the obligatory small poodle in the lobby The website can be found at: http://www.france-hotel-guide.com/h7...tepicquet2.htm

Deb: When you enter the hotel adress on the appropriate field on this webpage http://www.pageszoom.com/rc.cgi, you may be able to see up & down pictures of the street and neighborhood.

Hi Deb. My family and I willbe in Paris over New Years and we too are staying at the Hotel la Motte Picquet. I am doing the same thing you are-searching out info. They had a good write up in the Paris from $80.00 a day Guide by Frommers. Also there is more info on the Frommer message boards. The hotel looked nice on the website and I called and spoke to Danielle and she told me all the rooms were redone three months ago. I'm pretty confident it will be fine. For the price, over New Years, you can't beat it. I also went to the website to look at the street location. The web is pretty amazing. It makes it a pretty small world. Maybe we'll run into each other in the lobby. Have a great time.
