Hotel in Taormina, Sicily
Hi Fodorites

Do you have any recommendations for a 3/4 star hotel in Taormina for September 2002.

There seems to be quite a few to choose from and I dont know where to start. I'd like a room with a sun terrace/balcony and a nice view. Maybe somewhere thats likely to have fewer children about than average. A smaller friendly hotel would be preferable. There will be three couples in total staying a week.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Sue

Hotel Belvedere on Via Bagnoli Croce. Superior Three Star property with a very good view. Immaculately clean. Owner on premises every day. Decent sized rooms and baths. Rates vary considerably throughout the year. Rooms with sea views need to be reserved at least four months in advance. Breakfast and light lunch (summer only) are only meals offered.

I'll second the Belvedere. It is an atmospheric old villa, well taken care of -- not overly fancy or lush, but very, very comfortable with a wonderful staff. We booked about 10 months ahead and had a wonderful room with balcony and spectacular view. Quite a large room and bathroom as well.
