Hotel in Sevilla
I like to get some recomendation about a hotel in Sevilla. I will be during next October 4,5,6 with my wife and my daugther (18 months). I like to go to a charm, beautiful hotel under 100 dollars.
I tried to make a reservation to the Melia Confort Macarena without success.
Any alternatives ?

Thanks,
Alberto
Buenos Aires

We stayed at the San Gil which was wonderful. Two rooms, small fridge and two hotplates, but no cutlery or crockery. It is in the Macarena area and easy for transport. They have email <[email protected] >
tel 95 490

Alberto,

We stayed at the completely charming hotel called Las Casas de la Juderia (tel: 95-441-5150) in the barrio Santa Cruz for slightly over $100 per night which included a beautiful breakfast buffet, private bath, clean and relatively quiet (suggest you ask for an interior room as the Sevillanos are muy fiesteros and there is much singing, clapping and motorcycles at all hours). The hotel is located on the Callejon de Dos Hermanas off the Plaza de Santa Maria La Blanca and within walking distance of all sights. Good Luck, write me directly if you need more help and don't forget to search this site for lots of previous postings on the sights, restaurants and hotels of Sevilla. Maria

Alberto,
Regarding the car, I think Las Casas de La Juderia has a parking garage which was unbelievably difficult to navigate into from what we saw...I would suggest doing whatever you can to leave the car either at the train station, turn it in if it is a rental or certainly if you are going to keep it for your stay, parking it in a garage and NOT attempt to use it, especially in the Barrios de Santa Cruz, Arenal or Triana which are so narrow and congested. You do not need a car in Sevilla for the sights which are all relatively close and walkable (with a good stroller in your case). Good Luck! Maria

Hi, Alberto,
I might suggest either the Patio de la Cartuja or its sister hotel, Patio de la Alameda, both in the Macarena section about a 20 minute walk from the city center. Both are very attractive and affordable, accessible garage at the Cartuja (across the square from the Alameda), quiet enough (always street life late in the evening in Sevilla), OK breakfast at the Cartuja - serves both hotels.
Both are part of the Estancias de Espana organization (http://www.estanciases.es/) which we highly recommend for affordable hotels of great character across Spain. Like Paradors but cheaper and less formal.
