Hotel in Rome for 1 Night near Station

I'm joining a walking tour in Tuscany on May 30. To get an affordable flight, I have to fly into Rome in the early afternoon of May 29, and will join my group at the Rome airport the morning of May 30. So, I just need a hotel convenient to a station, and in an area where I can see just a little - considering I don't have much time to explore. Thanks for any recommendation you can give. - Laura

We liked Hotel Venezia last summer; couple blocks from Termini Station. It was furnished with lovely antiques, and the staff was very friendly.

Be careful around Termini Station at night.

I can recommend the Rex Hotel on Via Torino. Excellent, accommodating staff.

I can recommend Hotel Pavia, via Gaeta, just near the Baths of Diocletian. Three stars and in a quiet street a short walk from Termini Station. They have a website: www.hotelpavia.com

I second the nomination for Hotel Rex on via Torino. Excellent hotel, close to station but far enough away to be out of the seedy area and the riffraff. I can highly recommend this hotel. They have a web site, search for Hotel Rex in Rome.
