Good afternoon, Ron
Normally stay at the HOTEL INTERNAZIONALE, via Sistina, 79. this is a three star hotel with 37 rooms, located just south of the top of the
Spanish Steps. Have used it since 1981
and beaware that street side rooms can
be noisy at night due to the traffic
on the via Sistina, would suggest a
rear room. much quieter. Been satisified with it all these years..
Here are a couple of URL's to surf.
www.hotelguide.ch/
www.all-hotels.com/
www.venere.it/ (has over 500 rome listings.)
Richard of Hickory Hills, Il....
b

I just got back from Rome and we stayed at the Hotel Due Torri. We loved it. The location of this hotel is in old Rome near the Piazza Navona and is perfectly centrally located for all sights. We never took public transportation and walked everywhere. This is not the Hilton! The hotel is old and the rooms are furnished with worn antiques but it is clean and most if all QUIET!! Best off all the bathrooms are totally modern with good showers and facilities. I think the A/C works bad but it wasnt hot while we were there. The staff is very friendly and informal. The prices are godd too. There is a pic at>>> www.hotelbook.com/static/welcome_14282.html#top

If you send a Fax they will send rates and availability and a brochure. This hotel has also been recommed in the Cheap Sleeps in Italy Book. By the way, be careful where you book in Rome. Hotels on main streets are very noisey and avoid the seedy area near the train

I, too, also stayed recently at the Due Torri. It is a very good location, though located on a sort of back alley. Very near Piazza Navona and the Spanish Steps, as well as the great shopping areas near there. The staff was very nice and accomodating, and our room was nice and comfortable. I understand that they have about five rooms on the upper floors which have great views...you might see if these are available. The price was also very reasonable. They actually are listed in Karen Brown, which I take as a good recommendation.
