Thanks Paulo, But we are visiting friends in Pompeii. My children are staying in their apartment, and we are looking for a place for my husband and I to spend the night nearby. I will ask my friends for suggestions, but I thought the message board would have a suggestion. <BR>Another question Paulo, you spoke last week about the problems with lease vehicles. A lease is the most economical arrangement. Any ideas on how to distract from that red license plate? Maybe put local "stickers" on car window or sticker that says car is equipment with security system? Thanks

Regarding accomodations in Pompei, I would guess that just about all are on the budget side. The best hotel in town appears to be the Villa Laura and is one of the few that has a/c (almost a must in the summer). It's also supposed to be quiet. I would guess that the rates should run just under US$ 100 for a double. In the very center of the city is the Hotel del Santuario, which should run about US$ 60/double. Anyways, let your friends take care of it. <BR>Regarding leased cars there's not much you can do. European Comunity citizens may not use them ... the thieves will know that you're a tourist. Whenever you have your trunk full, just be extra carefull when parking. I leased twice in the past and didn't have any problems. When possible, I parked in attended parking lots. I also avoided underground garages. When the trunk was empty I really didn't care. In most places I just left my car parked on a curbside. I admit I was lucky because having the trunk broken into would have resulted in precious time lost at a Renault dealer to fix it. <BR>Paulo <BR> <BR>
