My wife and I stayed several nights at the Hotel Jacob in Brugge -- immaculate, quiet, good breakfast, splendid English-speaking front desk, well within your price bracket, 10 minutes walk to the main square. Check their web site. Very responsive to e-mail inquiries.

Sorry, my error. The name should be Hotel Jacobs.

Bill

Do a search on this site for the Ter Duinen. Worth it for the breakfast alone!

Bill,
Recommend Ter Duinen highly; immaculate good sized rooms, modern baths, air conditioning, triple paned windows to eliminate street noise, charming view of canal and sumptuous breakfasts in a charming dining room. Take a look at:

www.terduinenhotel.be

Bill,
Look at the Hansa Hotel. We were very pleased in June 2000. We paid about $160 but that was during the peak season. It will be less if you are travelling off-season. The location was convenient, we walked everywhere.
I also recommend the barge or bike trip to the town of Damme. It is beautiful countryside and not very far.

If you want more info, I will check this thread.

I highly recommend the hotel Prinsenhof. Wonderful hotel, family owners are great, excellent breakfast included, fabulous rooms, close to all sites. They have a web page so check them out.

I don't know when you're going, but the Hotel Aragon was wonderful when we stayed there in December. Our room (with ensuite HUGE bathroom) was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was included, and it was fabulous. The front desk made reservations for us for dinner, and their recommendation was fantastic. The location is great (only about a 2 block walk from the Burg), and we will stay there again in a heartbeat! Have fun!!

I also stayed at Hotel Jacobs (1996) and was very pleased. The proprietors were most hospitable and the rooms quiet and comfortable. Next month I'll be there staying at the Egmond Hotel. Looks quaint on their website.
